INTRODUCTION
Welcome
to Secretarys' Desk. The section contains all the details
about Akmatys' structure and organisation. For ex-KMYS students
who still haven't register for Akmatys, please take the opportunity
to do so. Your contribution in ensuring the continuity of
the link between our former college, KMYS and us is greatly
appreciated.
The main highlight is akmatys
today at the bottom of the page, which contains
all the recent news of Akmatys, as well as our plans for you
in the next few months. Here are the proof that we have been
working very hard to run the society, amidst heaps of reports
and tutorial questions.
Akmatys,
which stands for Alumni Kolej Matrikulasi Yayasan Saad (now
known as Kolej Matrikulasi Yayasan Satu), is an association
consisting of former KMYS students. Established by the pioneering
students of the college, the alumni's main endeavor is towards
establishing strong ties between members of the KMYS alumnus
and the college's current students, administrative and academic
body. At the moments, the society boasts a membership of over
80 former students, now continuing their studies abroad, spanning
over three continents.
This
website has been established to inform anyone who is interested
about the alumni's activities. The most important aim of the
website is to improve communication between the alumni members
and its committee. The website also serves as a platform for
the uninitiated former students of KMYS to become familiar
with what AKMATYS has to offer.
We
hope that you all will benefit from Akmatys!

Updates
Last
week, the committee carried out the first meeting since the
first AGM in Malaysia. At the end of the two hour meeting,
the committee has agreed on a few projects to be carried out
in the near future. Among others are the Welcoming Dinner
& Iftar at the Malaysia Hall for the juniors and seniors(yet
to be confirmed), Makan-makan Aidilfitri, Mentoring Project
and the participation in the Warwick Games (we couldn't afford
to lose again!!). Please contact the main committe for the
details of the projects. On the administration side, the database
of the members will also be updated. For those who haven't
registered, you can do so simply by filling in the online
form and send it back to us, or by contacting any committe
members. I would also like to remind you that our Long Term
Investment Project is still running and therefore your participation
(GBP 20/person/once in your life!) is highly recommended.
We have collected GBP 540 so far from our (540/20 = 27!!)
generous members. Please remember that although this project
is not compulsory, the more capital you have the more return
you get. So start contributing now! The 2 pounds is for the
registration fee. 4 pounds annual fee will incur after that.
The money will be spent in the administration and the running
of the society, funding activities etc. Please note that in
your budget ok!!
The
process of registering Akmatys to Pendaftar Pertubuhan Malaysia
- Failed
On Tuesday 4th of August, our President, Sharul Mizan Mohamad
Saleh went to the office of Pendaftar Pertubuhan Malaysia.
In his hands, are all the required documents for registering
Akmatys as a valid society under Malaysian Law. Among them
were the Constitution of Akmatys, six copies of the registration
form, and members and committee list. The reason for applying
is mainly because of the importance and the advantages of
having Akmatys as a registered society. However..<click

Investment Update
The brainchild of Sharul Mizan, the first president of AKMATYS
and also former president of the KMYS student council, the
AKMATYS investment project has been launched to raise funds
for the alumni association. The amount of money that has been
collected currently stands at approximately £500. £200
has now been put into an investment scheme. The remaining
£300 pounds is being kept in an HSBC Savings Account
under AKMATYS. For queries on the specific details concerning
the investment, please email the president.
