Visit to KMYS

36 Alumni members has garthered at the KMYS campus in Lembah Beringin last Friday, 24th of August 2001. The garthering, organized by former KMYS-ians Nik Yazmin , was intended to foster closer ties between AKMATYS and KMYS.

A football match was held on the evening of the visit. Team AKMATYS which are represented by Zulkifli, Husni Azam, FIrdaus, Khalid, Mohd Nasron, Husni Raof, Azwan, Fairuz, Syed Edlee, and Hafeez was up against team KMYS which consists of the current batch of student. After a gruelling 1 hour, team KMYS won by 4-1. The lack of training and fitness has taken its toll on team AKMATYS. But the performance of team KMYS was still far from the college team back in 2000, which was still considered to be the best team in the history of KMYS.

The informal chat between the students and the alumni members was held in the great hall in the evening. The event was started by a speech from the president, Shahrul Mizan. He introduced AKMATYS to them, and urged the students to take the opportunity to get to know their soon to be chosen university from the super seniors. Soon, the alumnus formed groups according to their university, and the students garthered around them. The program ended at 11:15 pm. It was hoped that the students got clearer pictures of the universities they are interested in.

The AGM was held straight after that. During the AGM, Shahrul Mizan open the discussion of the AKMATYS constitution to the fellow members, and several amendments were made to it. The updated constitution will be posted later. The election of the new committees followed. Shahrul Mizan and Fairuz retained their places. As a whole, the event was a success. All the objectives were achieved even with a short time constraint. Hopefully, this will become a yearly event for AKMATYS.
